The Oscar Pool Opens TODAY!

Hi All!

Starting today, you can start submitting your Oscar predictions and your entry into the Oscar predictions pool.

Here's how it's going to work. There are 2 steps.

1. Go to My Prediction GoogleDoc Survey and submit your predictions for the Oscar categories using this form. 
2. Submit your $25 entry into the pool by making a donation at My Team in Training Fundraising Page.

If you miss either step, you will not be entered and will not be eligible for the prizes!!!

Super easy! Just 2 steps! You can totally do it (and so can all of your friends)! 

Please also send all your friends to participate in the pool also. It's a win-win because there's more money in the pool for prizes and more money going to charity! 

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise - click on the prediction link above and make your predictions now. All predictions must be made before noon (PST) on February 27 to be eligible.

Why am I doing this?

As many of you know, I am currently training for an Ironman to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over the next few months, I will be attempting to raise $7650, while also pushing my body and mind to the extreme.

I love the Oscars and movies - and I know many of my friends and family do too! Therefore, as part of my fundraising efforts, I am holding an Oscar pool. The nominations come out next Tuesday (January 25th I believe), and as soon as the nominations are out, the ballot for making your Oscar predictions will become available.

Entry into the pool will be $25 and there will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, determined by the greatest number of correct Oscar ballot predictions come Oscar night. 1/3 of the pool will go back to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners and all other contributions to the pool will be going straight to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Woo hoo!

Of the amount going out in prizes, 50% will go to 1st place, 30% will go to 2nd place, and 20% will go to 3rd place. Clearly, the more people who enter, the greater the prizes will be and the greater the amount going to charity will be. It's a win-win, so get all of your friends and family involved!

There will also be a prize for the person with the least number of correct predictions. If you are the unluckiest competitor in this year's pool, you will receive a 3 month subscription to Netflix - so that you can spend some time catching up on the films that actually won :-)

I really hope you will support me in this endeavor and that you will have a little fun at the same time!

Check back for full details next week after nominations come out and also start thinking about anyone else you know who might want to participate. Everyone is welcome - the more people the better! If the pool gets larger, so may the prizes!
